The Residency
Set against the rugged backdrop of the Oregon Mountains, writers gather at Suttle Lodge for six days of focused manuscript work. Days are open schedule, allowing writers to structure their time as needed, with a shared meal and discussion concluding each day. Writers may spend their time at Residency drafting, revising, brainstorming, or outlining, with various work spaces available and ample wilderness to explore.

Research Expedition
For writers who want to delve deep into research and inspiration, The Research Expedition is an experience specifically tailored to learning. Each year, the location and focus of The Research Expedition will change, each offering an itinerary filled with cultural experiences, historical context, art, architecture, and landscape study, and scholarly talks. 2024 will take us to Iceland for Legends & Landscapes.

Storyteller's Retreat
Open exclusively to Writing With the Soul Workshop alumni, Storyteller’s Retreat is an in-person, inspiration-filled retreat experience held annually at Dunskey Estate in Scotland. Writers spend six days participating in critique circles, sitting in on craft workshops, and taking part in once in a lifetime adventures with their fellow retreat goers.
